I don't understand why when I booked an 8.30 appointment you have to wait 15 minutes before they start as the staff aren't in and ready to start it's happened before Not impressed

I visited Boots Opticians in December 2016, for a general eye test and had the photos taken of the back of my eyes. During my consultation Kieran Bissessur advised that I had a blood pressure problem causing eye problems and advised seeing my GP to get a referral to my local eye clinic. Following the GP visit and referral to Addenbrookes, I had a series of eye injections, which was the suggested course of treatment for my condition. My consultant at Addenbrookes is really pleased with the results and my sight is much improved. Thank you Kieran for picking up this problem and allowing me to get my blood pressure issue address and more importantly keeping my eyes healthy. Thank you also to team member Amanda Palmer for your help with the new glasses. Janet

I wear varifocal spectacles, which I know some people have difficulty with and I know some who have given up. I too had difficulty when I was using a different optician but then I went to Boots and found Richard Hickey, a dispensing optician. He spent time with me and worked out that I have an intolerance. This means that I can now go to him to get my spectacles measured up and I know that when I collect them, I will be able to see immediately and not have to wear them in as I had to do before. I do not have to worry about feeling a bit sea sick until I get used to them, I can see straight away. This makes buying new spectacles a treat, not an ordeal.

I wear varifocal lenses and have heard many stories of people giving up because they are difficult. I had a lot of difficulty too when I first started wearing them and then I found Richard, a dispensing optician at Boots. He worked out why I have difficulty and now I can buy spectacles with confidence. I collected my latest pair on Wednesday and could wear them immediately. Prior to Richard, I had to wear them in like a pair of new shoes, but now I know I will be able to see immediately. I found the other staff very friendly and helpful.
